barnaclinic+ incorporates early diagnosis programmes for prostate and breast cancer
Cancer is one of the most common diseases. The great advances in medicine in recent years have made it possible to improve the survival rate of this disease. However, it is still the leading cause of death in the world today. One of the decisive factors for a good prognosis is the stage of development of the tumour. Many cases can be cured if detected early and treated effectively. For this reason, early cancer diagnosis programmes are a very important tool. barnaclinic+ currently has a new Medical Screening unit, which offers early diagnosis programmes for colon and rectal cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer and melanoma. This offer is now being extended to include the early diagnosis of prostate cancer, the most common tumour among men, and breast cancer, the most common among women. While the programmes themselves already existed, an updated portfolio of services has been defined. In these new programmes, as in those that already existed, patients will receive care from the best specialists in these areas, who have proven experience and are international benchmarks. Likewise, the most advanced and precise technology is available, which allows the identification of tumour lesions in their earliest stages.

barnaclínic+ strengthens ties with the Dominican Republic
Between the 20th and 22nd of March, a representation of barnaclinic+, formed by Carles Loran, our manager, Dr Pere Feliu, from iberoamedical and one of our collaborators, and Dr Jordi Rumià, a neurosurgeon who is part of the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Unit (UPTM) of the Clínic de Barcelona and barnaclínic+, visited the Dominican Republic. This visit has been promoted by Maximo Corporana Parkinson’s patient who was operated on by Dr Rumià himself and who, thanks to his intervention, has significantly improved all his symptoms. The aim of this mission focused on Santo Domingo was none other than to present the different services offered by barnaclinic+ for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, to sign a collaboration agreement with the Hospital General de la Plaza de la Salud (HGPS) and to discuss possible cooperation agreements with different entities in the country.

El Clínic de Barcelona is once again one of the best hospitals in the world according to World’s Best Hospitals
What defines a great hospital as first class? Undoubtedly, exquisite care, pioneering research and being innovative are three major pillars of this question. But there is one more characteristic that these great centres share: consistency. The best hospitals in the world consistently attract the best professionals and deliver the best outcomes for patients, as well as offer new therapies and conduct important research. Doing this on an annual basis is no trivial matter. For the fifth time, Newsweek magazine, in collaboration with Statista, has compiled its ranking of the world’s best hospitals, the World’s Best Hospitals 2023. And for yet another year, the Clínic de Barcelona has been among the best in Spain and the world.

barnaclínc+ launches its Medical Check-up unit
An early diagnosis is usually always synonymous with a better prognosis. Both because the pathology has not developed enough to cause irreparable damage and because in earlier stages it is possible to use less aggressive treatments that lead to a better and faster recovery. Medical reviews are a very useful tool for all of this, which is why barnaclínic+ has set up a new unit specialising in medical check-up.

The penile prosthesis, a solution when the rest of the treatments for erectile dysfunction fail
Erectile dysfunction is the inability to get and keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. It is a problem that can affect between 20 and 50% of the adult population, affecting one in two men over the age of fifty. Despite being such a common disorder, it is still rare to talk about erectile dysfunction, on which an important social taboo still weighs. In this way, many men do not go to medical consultations to treat this problem, for which there are different types of treatment, the penile prosthesis being the last one when more conservative options have failed. It consists of placing a device inside the penis to try to optimise its rigidity when having sexual intercourse.
