Four barnaclínic+ professionals among the best scientists in the world
A few days ago, Clarivate Analytics published the Highly Cited Researchers list that identifies the most influential scientists in the world. Four professionals from barnaclinic+ medical staff are present on this list, which brings together 1% of the most cited experts in their specialties. So, among the best scientists in the world , we have doctors such as Josep Dalmau , Ramon Estruch , Francesc Graus and Eduard Vieta.

Hospital Clínic chosen as second-best hospital in Spain for the sixth consecutive year
Hospital Clínic de Barcelona is the second best Spanish hospital according to the 2019 Health Reputation Monitor (Monitor de Reputación Sanitaria, MRS). The first place was won by the Hospital Universitario La Paz, while Gregorio Maranon Hospital closes the Top3. The Clinic was also chosen as the best hospital in Spain in the following medical specialties: Gastroenterology, General and Gastrointestinal surgery, Hematology, Nephrology and Pulmonology.

First robot-assisted complex gynecological surgery led by the Hospital Clínic Group
Last October 31st, Dr. Berta Diaz-Feijoo and Dr. Aureli Torné, both professionals at Gynecology barnaclínic+, performed the first robot-assisted complex gynecological surgery of the Hospital Clínic Group of Barcelona. Dr. Diaz-Feijoo states in the video that “the race for robotic surgery has only just begun.”

The best liquid biopsy test for patients with advanced cancer arrives at barnaclínic+
From this September, barnaclínic+ Medical Oncology is providing its patients with the best liquid biopsy test currently available for advanced cancer, Guardant-360. Thanks to the agreement between the Medical Oncology and Pathology departments of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and the company Guardant Health, the Clínic will be the first centre in Europe to routinely use one of the most advanced liquid biopsy tests on the market.

International Patient Care Department delegation of the United Arab Emirates visits barnaclínic+
On September 17th, we received an International Patient Care Department (IPCD) Delegation of Department of Health of the United Arab Emirates (DoH), led by its Acting Director Ms Hind Mubarak Al Zaabi framed within the collaboration agreement signed a year ago. During the visit, the IPCD delegation was able to visit our facilities, exchange impressions with some of our professionals and learn about our processes and logistics solutions.

On 13 May, International Nurses Day was celebrated at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. During the festivities, in addition to recognition for several members of this group, the Fourth barnaclínic+ Prizes were awarded. One again this year, barnaclínic+ is committed to promoting the training and research activity of nursing professionals at the Hospital Clínic. These prizes, consisting of the Sabàtics Scholarships for training abroad and the Research Intensification Permits, are an initiative of the Department of Nursing at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, with funding from barnaclínic+.

The Clinic’s Cardiovascular Surgery performs two heart transplants simultaneously
The Cardiovascular Surgery Department of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona led by Dr Manuel Castellà has, for the first time, performed two heart transplants simultaneously. Although only one of them was planned and two heart transplants had never been performed simultaneously, the result of both surgeries has been “very satisfactory”.

EstimTrack has arrived at barnaclínic+, real-time information on the status of the surgical patient
For the past few weeks, the hospitalization ward of barnaclínic+ has a new real-time information system for relatives of surgical patients. EstimTrack is a tool that aids monitoring and provides information at all times of the surgical process and the condition of the patient being operated on. This information can be consulted from the screens of the Hospitalisation Room or from any mobile device, thanks to the application (Available for Android and iOS).
