Clínic Barcelona among the best hospitals in the world in 2024
For five years, Newsweek magazine, in collaboration with Statista, has carried out a ranking to classify the best hospitals in the world, known as World’s Best Hospitals, with the aim of offering a tool to patients and families to choose the most appropriate centre for your attention. The hospital Clínic Barcelona has once again managed to be in this ranking, which includes the 250 best hospital centres in the world in 2024, improving the classification achieved last year by three positions. Thus, the centre has been able to climb from position number 63 to 59. It is also one of the best hospitals in Spain, behind only the La Paz University Hospital and the 12 de Octubre University Hospital.

Sabàtics, an initiative to help in the training of medical professionals
Medical training is something that never stops. Continuous innovation and research make it necessary for medical professionals to dedicate part of their time to maintaining and improving their professional competence, to adapt to the new demands and requirements that are generated by the evolution of medicine, the health system and society in general. Precisely thinking of helping in this continuous medical training, the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona created grants in the 1980s to carry out this training in centres of excellence abroad, the ‘Sabàtics Permits’. Later, in 2015, barnaclínic+ joined this initiative allowing more training time to be financed.

Hospital Clínic, one more year among the best hospitals in the world in the World’s Best Hospitals
For another year, Newsweek magazine, in collaboration with Statista, has produced its ranking of the best hospitals in the world, the World’s Best Hospitals, thus being the fourth time that this classification has been awarded. And for yet another year, the Hospital Clínic has been among the best hospitals in the world and in Spain. On this occasion the centre has occupied the second position of the Spanish top 3, only behind the Hospital Universitario La Paz, while the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre completed the podium in third position.
