Hospital Clínic, one more year among the best hospitals in the world in the World’s Best Hospitals

Mejores hospitales del mundo

For another year, Newsweek magazine, in collaboration with Statista, has produced its ranking of the best hospitals in the world, the World’s Best Hospitals, thus being the fourth time that this classification has been awarded. And for yet another year, the Hospital Clínic has been among the best hospitals in the world and in Spain. On this occasion the centre has occupied the second position of the Spanish top 3, only behind the Hospital Universitario La Paz, while the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre completed the podium in third position. Regarding the world ranking, the Hospital Clínic has occupied the 63rd position.

In preparing this ranking, the difficult context that hospital centres have been going through since the start of the covid-19 pandemic has been taken into account. This has meant that many have had to learn to quickly adapt to new challenges, but also to old ones, often improvising on the fly to overcome all these obstacles. To carry out this classification with the best hospitals in the world, the opinion of more than 80,000 health experts, such as doctors, managers and other professionals in the field of health, has been taken into account, in addition to patient satisfaction and clinical indicators.

Among the 150 best hospitals in the world there are representatives from 21 different countries, thus demonstrating excellence around the world. The United States, with 33 hospitals, leads the ranking, followed by Germany with 14, France and Italy with 10 each and South Korea with 8. The world podium once again has been dominated by American hospitals. Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Hospital and Massachusetts Hospital in that order have topped the list.

Spain, for its part, has managed to include up to seven centres among the 150 best.
