Donanemab, a new treatment for Alzheimer’s disease now available at barnaclínic+
barnaclínic+ is expanding its treatment options for Alzheimer’s disease with donanemab (Kisunla®), a new treatment for patients in the early stages of the disease. This monoclonal antibody targets build-ups of beta-amyloid protein in the brain and has been shown to slow the progression of cognitive and functional decline in certain patients. The availability of donanemab in Barcelona marks a new step forward in the management of Alzheimer’s disease and underlines the importance of early diagnosis. This medicine belongs to a new generation of therapies which, unlike treatments that mainly focus on relieving symptoms, aim to act on one of the biological processes involved in the disease.
