Four barnaclínic+ professionals receive the Professional Excellence Awards from the COMB

Yesterday, Monday 23 November, the Colegio Oficial de Medicos de Barcelona (COMB) (Official College of Doctors of Barcelona)  awarded the 2015 Professional Excellence Awards. At this year’s edition, held in the Teatro Romea, COMB awarded 51 physicians and 4 assistant teams. Among the protagonists, four Barnaclínic+ professionals received the above mentioned award in recognition of their professional careers.

The doctors awarded were: Dr. Eduard Gratacós, Director of  BCNatal  (Clinical-Hospital Hospital Sant Joan de Deu), editor of inatal.org and specialist in Fetal Medicine at Barnaclínic+;  Dr. Josep Riba i Ferret,  Orthopaedic Surgery service; Dr. Jordi Blanch, of the Psychiatry and Psychology Service; and Dr. Xavier Forns, of the Hepatology Service .

COMB annually gives these Awards for Professional Excellence in recognition of doctors who, according to their colleagues, have excelled throughout their career. According to Colegio de Médicos de Barcelona’s web, these awards, which began in 2004, cover all areas of health: “hospital medicine, primary care, mental and public health, social care, biomedical research, medical education or medical humanities” and are a recognition of “the excellence, commitment, honesty, altruism and integrity” of these professionals.

In addition to individual awards, the Awards for Professional Excellence also include the recognition of four care teams to reward “the leadership and excellence of doctors who work in team”.
