Clarivate Analytics<\/a> has released its 2022 ranking of the most cited scientists<\/strong>, the \u2018Highly Cited Researchs\u2019<\/a>, which identifies the best researchers in the world<\/strong>. To be part of this list, it is necessary to be among the 1% of the most cited authors by field and year in the Web of Science. And three barnacl\u00ednic+ professionals<\/strong> appear on it: Dr Josep Dalmau<\/strong><\/a>, Dr\u00a0Francesc Graus<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and Dr\u00a0Eduard Vieta<\/strong><\/a>, all of whom were already on last year\u2019s list.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Along with them, there are also five other researchers from the<\/strong> Cl\u00ednic Barcelona \u2013 IDIBAPS<\/strong><\/a>, which makes it the medical institution in Spain with the most researchers among the most cited<\/strong>. These other five researchers are Dr Jordi Bruix<\/strong>, Dr Josep Maria Llovet<\/strong>, Dr Juli\u00e0 Pan\u00e9s<\/strong>, Dr Joaquim Radu\u00e0<\/strong> and Dr Albert Saiz<\/strong>. Researchers from the Universitat de Barcelona<\/a> also appear on the list: Cristina Andres-Lacueva, Jos\u00e9 Lu\u00eds Araus, Jos\u00e9 Lu\u00eds Molinuevo and Josep M. Haro.<\/p>\n

A LIST OF EXCELLENCE<\/h2>\n

A total of 6,938 ranked researchers in 21 fields of science and social sciences appear on this year\u2019s list of the world\u2019s best researchers<\/strong>. The 2022 ranking includes a total of 97 researchers working in Spanish institutions.<\/p>\n

The Clarivate Analytics<\/em> list focuses on scientific articles that are within the top 1% cited by field and year on the Web of Science (the Highly Cited Papers<\/em>). This year, articles published between January 2011 and December 2021 have been taken into account. This international ranking is also a key component of many rankings with great global projection in the university world, such as the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)<\/em><\/a>, better known as the Shanghai ranking.<\/p>\n

Dr Josep Dalmau<\/a><\/h5>\n

Dr Josep Dalmau<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is a specialist in neurology, neuroimmunology, neuro-oncology, paraneoplastic syndromes and autoimmune encephalitis<\/strong><\/a>. In addition to being a specialist in Neurology<\/a> at barnacl\u00ednic+, he is the director of the Pathogenesis of autoimmune neuronal diseases<\/a> research group at the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) at the Cl\u00ednic Barcelona, whose goal is the study of autoimmune diseases\/ inflammatory diseases of the brain such as multiple sclerosis, autoimmune encephalitis<\/a> and paraneoplastic disorders, among others. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona<\/a> and a Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania<\/a> in the United States. He is also an ICREA researcher.<\/p>\n

Dr Francesc Graus<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is a specialist in\u00a0Neurology<\/a>\u00a0at barnacl\u00ednic+ and is also the head of the Neurology Service at Cl\u00ednic Barcelona<\/a>. He is an international reference in the\u00a0diagnosis and treatment of brain tumours<\/strong><\/a>, neurological complications of cancer<\/strong> and transplant in multiple sclerosis<\/strong>. He is also an emeritus researcher in the IDIBAPS Pathogenesis of autoimmune neuronal diseases<\/a> research group led by Dr\u00a0Josep Dalmau<\/strong><\/a>, together with whom he developed a patent for the diagnosis and treatment of an autoimmune disease associated with neurodegenerative processes and sleep disorders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dr<\/strong> Eduard Vieta<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is part of the\u00a0barnacl\u00ednic+ Psychiatry<\/a> team and is also the head of the\u00a0Psychiatry and Psychology Service at Cl\u00ednic Barcelona<\/a>. He is also the principal investigator of the IDIBAPS<\/a> Bipolar and Depresive Disorders<\/a>\u00a0group. The research carried out in this group is oriented towards the understanding of bipolar and depressive disorders<\/strong><\/a> and the corresponding improvement in clinical practice. The group has contributed to increasing the availability of new drugs for bipolar and depressive disorders by designing and conducting clinical trials that have facilitated the introduction of new approaches for the pharmacological treatment of these diseases.<\/p>\n
