To improve the health sector, one of the fundamental keys is to promote innovation<\/strong>. Through it, it is possible to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare processes, and wealth is also generated by developing solutions that can later be marketed. For this reason, and for the second year, the Cl\u00ednic Barcelona group has once again launched the Campus Cl\u00ednic Innovation Awards<\/strong>. This is an initiative that seeks to help advance the state of maturity of the innovation that is being developed around the Campus Cl\u00ednic towards the market<\/strong>. Once again, continuing to support the innovation and improvement projects of the Cl\u00ednic Barcelona, barnacl\u00ednic+ has been one of the entities that have participated in these Awards, financing one of them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

WHO HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE II CAMPUS CL\u00cdNIC INNOVATION AWARDS?<\/h2>\n

In this 2nd<\/sup> edition of the Campus Cl\u00ednic Innovation Awards<\/strong>, any professional who works at the Cl\u00ednic has been able to present, but projects under development in companies already established that are more than two years old cannot do so. The criteria for the eligibility of the projects were that the innovations presented should have commercialisation potential and be able to embrace different levels of technological maturity.<\/p>\n

A total of 19 experts from various fields of the health sector linked to the activity of the Campus Cl\u00ednic were in charge of evaluating the proposals presented. In total there have been fourteen who have reached the final and of these, eight have been winners, each of whom has received a grant of 25,000 euros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To publicise the finalist proposals and announce the final winners, a hybrid day was held on December 13, which could be followed both in person and via streaming<\/em>. The day also served to disseminate and visualize all the innovation projects of the Cl\u00ednic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

BARNACL\u00cdNIC+ SUPPORTS THE INNOVATION OF THE BARCELONA CL\u00cdNIC<\/h2>\n

barnacl\u00ednic+, in its line of supporting the development of the professionals who work in the group, has been one of the entities that have supported these II Campus Cl\u00ednic Innovation Awards<\/strong>, contributing the money for one of the eight selected projects. Specifically, the project that has received the barnacl\u00ednic+ Award has been the one presented by Alberto Di Somma<\/strong><\/a>, \u201cRetractor for transorbital endoscopic surgery\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In addition to this award, two Hospital Cl\u00ednic Barcelona Awards<\/strong> were also given, for the project promoted by Mireia Pascual<\/strong>, \u201cIndividualised feeding devices for premature infants\u201d<\/em> and that of Elisenda Eixarch<\/strong><\/a>, \u201cSealing system to prevent iatrogenic rupture of amniotic membranes\u201d<\/em>. The other prizes awarded were the Fundaci\u00f3n Vila Casas<\/strong><\/a> Prize<\/strong>, for the project led by Carla Cases<\/strong>, \u201cFocusing disc for improvement in the application of intraoperative radiotherapy treatment of the breast\u201d<\/em>, the iVascular<\/strong><\/a> Prize<\/strong>, for Victoria Aldecoa<\/strong> and her project \u201cVideo laryngoscope for premature babies\u201d<\/em>, the \u201cla Caixa<\/strong><\/a>\u201d Foundation<\/strong> Award<\/strong> for the \u201cPATAPAM\u201d<\/em> project by Xavier Fern\u00e0ndez-Busquests<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the CATE Awards<\/strong> for\u00a0Aida Ni\u00f1erola<\/strong><\/a> for her project \u201cPre-surgical diagnostic image integration system for the operating room\u201d<\/em> and for Ana Requena<\/strong><\/a> for the \u201cISMiHealt\u201d<\/em> project.<\/p>\n

THE CONFERENCE, BEYOND THE INNOVATION AWARDS<\/h2>\n

The finalist projects for the awards were previously presented at two round tables, the first moderated by Maria Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, head of Innovation Development at the Cl\u00ednic, and Teresa Lloret<\/strong>, director of the IDIBAPS Technology and Knowledge Transfer Office<\/a>, and the second by Lina Williamson<\/strong>, Head of Entrepreneurship at the Cl\u00ednic and Marina Espriu<\/strong>, Head of Technology Transfer, Knowledge and Entrepreneurship at ISGlobal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The day also included a conference given by Hak Salih<\/strong>, head of Public Sector, Venture Capital and Start-ups at Healthcare EMEA BD Lead, from Amazon Web Services (AWS)<\/a>, who explained the AWS Healthcare Accelerator project which addresses disparities. Then it was the turn of Luis M. Lasalvia<\/strong>, medical director of Siemens Healthineers<\/a>, who gave a talk about how artificial intelligence is helping to improve cancer care. The first conference was moderated by Llu\u00eds Donoso<\/strong>, director of the Instituto de Tecnolog\u00edas Cl\u00ednicas Avanzadas (CATI)<\/a> and the second by Laura Sampietro-Colom<\/strong>, deputy director of Innovation and head of Health Technology Assessment at Cl\u00ednic Barcelona.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
