Thanks to the agreement between the\u00a0Medical Oncology<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Pathology<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0departments of the\u00a0Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona<\/a>\u00a0and the company\u00a0Guardant Health<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0Cl\u00ednic<\/strong>\u00a0will be the first centre in Europe to routinely use one of the most advanced\u00a0liquid biopsy tests\u00a0<\/strong>on the market.<\/p>\n

WHAT IS GUARDANT-360?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Guardant-360<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0liquid biopsy test<\/strong><\/a> that consists of analysing a blood sample in order to evaluate an integral panel of 74 genes. By using next-generation sequencing techniques, alterations such as mutations, copies, microsatellite instability and fusion genes are identified with high sensitivity. All of this in a large number of solid tumours and even\u00a0hereditary cancer<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Liquid biopsy<\/a>\u00a0is a new non-invasive diagnostic test that provides the same information as conventional biopsy, minimising risks and complications.<\/p>\n

Guardant-360<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the most advanced\u00a0liquid biopsy\u00a0<\/strong>tests<\/a>\u00a0available. It is being used in some of the world’s leading centres, including 28 of the largest oncology centres of the North American\u00a0National Comprehensive Cancer Network<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This means that the risk of complications is minimised as it is a minimally invasive procedure\u201d. With the\u00a0Guardant-360 liquid biopsy test<\/a>,\u00a0barnacl\u00ednic+<\/strong>\u00a0is offering its patients a non-invasive diagnostic test for any type of\u00a0advanced cancer<\/strong>. Guardant-360<\/strong>\u00a0will be offered at the oncologist’s discretion.<\/p>\n

After taking a blood sample, our oncologist will have the results in fewer than 10 working days. The results will enable us to confirm or rule out the presence of\u00a0tumour cells in the blood<\/strong>. In addition, with the results of the\u00a0liquid biopsy<\/strong>, the\u00a0treatment of a known cancer<\/strong> may be personalised and adapted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
