Cross bite

Before

  • Adults: Skeletal class III, moderate upper crowding, bilateral posterior cross bite and anterior cross bite of lateral incisors.

    Treatment plan:

Surgically-assisted expansion (SARPE) and upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, 24 months

Anterior cross bite, before and after

After

  • Children: Skeletal class I, midlines not matching, right posterior cross bite.

    Treatment plan:

    Bone expansion, 14 months

Posterior cross bite, before and after

Skeletal class II malocclusion

Mixed dentition

  • Skeletal class II division 1, 5 mm overjet.

    Treatment plan:

Interceptive with Sander myofunctional appliances, for 14 months

Permanent dentition without extractions

  • Skeletal class II, moderate crowding, maxillary constriction.

    Treatment plan:

Upper expansion and fixed metal self-ligating appliance without extractions, 24 months.

Permanent dentition with extractions

  • Skeletal full-step class II molar and canine, mild crowding, cross bite of right lateral incisor.

    Treatment plan:

Upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, with extraction of upper first bicuspids, 24 months.

Open bite

Open bite

  • Skeletal class III, maxillary constriction, mild crowding.

    Treatment plan:

Rapid palatal expansion plus upper and lower fixed appliances, without extractions, 24 months.

Diastemas

Diastemas

  • Skeletal class III, upper and lower diastemas.

    Treatment plan:

Upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, without extractions, 18 months.

Overbite

Overbite

  • Skeletal class I, mild crowding, overbite of 80%.

    Treatment plan:

Upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, without extractions, 24 months.

Skeletal class I

Skeletal class I

  • Skeletal class I, moderate crowding, bilateral posterior cross bite and anterior cross bite of upper lateral incisors.

    Treatment plan:

Rapid palatal expansion, upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, without extractions, 24 months.

Skeletal class I and alveolar class II

  • Skeletal class I and alveolar class II, severe upper and lower anter crowding, overbite of 100%.

    Treatment plan:

Upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, with extraction of upper and lower first bicuspids, 24 months.

Skeletal class III

Skeletal class III

  • Moderate upper and lower crowding, cross bite of upper lateral incisors.

    Treatment plan:

Upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances, without extractions, 24 months.

Skeletal class III - Surgical

  • Surgical: anterior-posterior cross bite, mild crowding, tooth #24 missing (from previous treatment), mandibular deviation to the left.

    Treatment plan:

    Orthodontic-surgical treatment, 18 months

Impacted canines

Impacted canines

  • Skeletal class II: division 2, presence of baby canine teeth, right and left canines included, peg-shaped tooth at #22.

    Treatment plan:

Upper and lower fixed orthodontic appliances with surgical exposure of teeth #13 and 23, 24 months.

Invisalign

Skeletal class I

  • Skeletal class I, moderate crowding, grade 2 periodontal disease.

    Treatment plan:

Skeletal class III

  • Skeletal class III, mandibular deviation to the left, agenesis of upper left lateral incisor, cross bite of teeth #21 and 23.

    Treatment plan:

Invisible orthodontic appliances, 24 months. Once treatment was finished, an upper left lateral incisor implant was inserted and the crown restored.

Skeletal and alveolar class I

  • Skeletal and alveolar class I, moderate crowding, lower midline deviated to the left.

    Treatment plan:

Invisible orthodentic appliances, with extraction of a lower incisor, 24 months.

Skeletal and alveolar class III

  • Skeletal and alveolar class III, peg-shaped teeth at #12 and 22, mild crowding, right anterior-posterior cross bite, midlines deviated.

    Treatment plan:

Invisible orthodontic appliances with rapid palatal expansion, 24 months. Once treatment was finished, the peg-shaped teeth were restored with ceramic veneers.
